…simply no place like Manila. Manila, I am HOME.
Upon coming back home, I’ve been able to reconnect with old friends and spend lots of quality time with family. And since the past month has been a bit of a blur with so much happening, especially with the arrival of my family from the good ‘ol US of A, I haven’t had much time to really reflect on the past year of my life, living in Bali and all.
So, here I am now, wide awake at 2:44am, doing a bit of reflecting on things I’ve discovered about myself whilst living alone abroad.

• I ACTUALLY DON’T MIND HOUSE CHORES
(yay domesticated me!) I mean seriously, who knew? Definitely not me! Ok so I admit, growing up I was sheltered and a wee bit spoiled. Up until my move to Bali May of last year, I still had someone cooking for me, doing my laundry, cleaning up after me. Yes! I admit, I was a 28 year-old gal who didn’t know refused to do chores. But since living on my own, I’ve learned to do all that and more. I’ve also learned to budget and live simply. And I don’t care what naysayers have to say. I’ve learned, I’m proud of my achievements and I think I deserve a massive pat on the back. #BetterLateThanNever
**FUN FACT: I love vacuuming and washing the dishes.
• I AM 100% INDEPENDENT!
Not everything were rainbows and butterflies in Bali. I had my fair share of struggles but I got through them. Even though I know I could have called on my parents for help, I wanted to figure things out on my own. And with a few help from friends, old and new, I was able to get through the tough times. Because of this, I was able to prove to myself that I am braver than I believed, stronger than I may have seemed and smarter than I thought. But guess what, so are you. Because if I could do it, you can too. #ToughTimesDontLastToughPeopleDo
and despite all the ups, downs and curve balls Bali threw my way,
• I AM GRATEFUL
I am grateful for all the new experiences, life lessons, friendships, connections and realizations.
I am grateful to have had the chance to live in Bali, experience Bali.
Terima kasih banyak, Bali. Aku cinta kamu.
Peace, Love and Lipgloss,
