Traveling long-term can definitely take it’s toll on some people. Living out of a backpack and constantly moving around and not having your own permanent space all contribute to travel fatigue. And while getting a long, proper, good sleep and exercise might help, ladies know that a bit of pampering goes a long way. Because let’s face it, sometimes, all you really need is a little TLC in order to get that second wind to keep on trudging through.
So, if you ever find yourself lost and exhausted in Manila, treat yourself to a mani, pedi, foot spa, full body massage, or anything else your heart desires over at Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge.
I was given the privilege to try out their services earlier this week, and I must say, I really enjoyed myself and was quite impressed with a number things.
Let’s start off with the whole look of the place shall we? It was girly, fun and well-decorated. And the color palette? Well, that just screamed happy & summer all rolled into one and I loved it! My favorite part? The chalk drawings on the mirrors and glass door; more specifically, the tropical fern art near the entrance. (That’s kind of my thing right now)
I kid you not, stepping into this #happyplace can easily get rid of that travel fatigue.
On a completely different note, look at the size of this place! It’s big enough to have a comfortable SPArty so you and your girlfriends can enjoy, relax and chit chat the day/night away while having the whole place to yourselves.
Now on to the good stuff. The mani-pedi-footscrub combo. Oh yes, quite a treat, especially for a gal like me who absolutely LOVES getting her nails done. Aside from the great service and flawless application, their color and brand selection of nail polishes were pretty amazing. There was Orly, Essie, Zoya, Cuccio, Sally Hansen and, a new discovery for me, Ruby Wing, a color changing polish. While all these color options were exciting, the absolute icing on the cake for me would have to be the fact that they use Seche Vite, my all-time favorite top coat! It dries super quickly (like 2 minutes tops! no joke!) and leaves a brilliant shine that’s at par with that of a gel polish finish. So far, this is the only nail salon in Manila that I know of that uses Seche Vite, so two thumbs up for that.
And let’s not forget the awesome complimentary hand and foot massages that came with my mani-pedi. While it’s common for nail salons to offer this, most times it’s just ‘meh’ and feels rushed — not really much of a plus. But this however, superb. Roda and Cherry, my nail technicians, gave it a good, proper effort and I really did enjoy it, the whole 2-3 minutes of it.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Because Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge is a one-stop shop for anything and everything girly, I even got a full body massage and let me tell you, it was di-vine. My masseuse applied just the right amount of pressure and before I knew it, I was out like a light. Travel fatigue, be gone!
Overall, my visit to this little tucked away haven was splendid, and was just what I needed to relax and enjoy some much-needed me-time. So, if you’re a weary traveler in search for a little pick-me-upper, Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge is just the place for you. Great services for reasonable prices.
